Tim has over fifteen years recruitment experience in both the UK and Melbourne markets and specialises in the areas of front and middle office banking, and accounting, risk and strategy recruitment across the financial and professional services and corporate sectors. He has worked on a wide range of executive search mandates with broader experience and expertise in talent pipelining, benchmarking, remuneration and competitive intelligence.
Tim established SMC Executive in 2009. He is the sole owner/Director of SMC Executive and manages the Melbourne office in addition to key client relationships and senior assignments in the Australian Market. Prior to this, Tim was a Partner in a specialist banking & finance executive search firm, where he set up and ran the Melbourne business for a number of years.
Previously, Tim was a Senior Executive at a publicly listed recruitment firm where he ran the
Accounting and Finance division whilst running executive search and selection assignments across the banking and finance sector and managing key client accounts. He began his recruitment career in London before returning to Melbourne in 2000 where he joined a global recruitment business specialisingin banking and finance.
Tim is married with three children and lives in Melbourne.
Miriam is an accomplished business executive and a leader with over 20 years experience in the finance and banking industry, with a broad understanding of products, services and organisational functions. Having completed an MBA, a Diploma in Financial Markets and Level 2 Certified Coaching qualifications, Miriam also has a proven track record in successfully leading large operations and sales teams in one of the top 4 Australian banks in Australia.
Miriam brings deep subject matter expertise in sales, leadership, banking, operations, financial markets and debt products. She has broad skills and experience in strategy development and execution, delivering results, risk & compliance, business transformation and functional effectiveness. Having built high performing teams, Miriam is also highly experienced in developing people, identifying talent and recruiting the right people for the right roles.

She has a passion for helping people develop & grow their careers, and assists them to understand their unique strengths so they can flourish and prosper in their field.
Emma joined SMC Executive in early 2018, after returning to Melbourne from many years living and working in Asia and the UK. Having completed her Bachelor of Business (International Trade) at Monash University, Emma worked for a Japanese Trading House, before moving to London where she became an Equity Derivatives broker. She began working for GFI, a large global interdealer broking house. Her role took her to Hong Kong, where she spent many years broking equity derivatives to global investment banks, both their proprietary and flow trading desks.
In 2011 Emma leveraged off her global network in Financial Markets to make a career change into Executive Search, and was successful in helping her Investment Banking clients build deeply diverse and successful teams. She also conducted extensive market research, market mapping and comparison levels for her clients at an executive level.
Since joining SMC she has successfully placed a broad number of candidates across our Banking and Financial services clients including Head of Compliance, Japan for an Institutional Fund
Manager, Head of Money Market Dealing for a large Australian retail bank in addition to a number of senior roles across finance, risk and compliance for a Big 4 bank.

As the name suggests Advertised Search and Selection combines direct advertising (online and / or print) together with a more refined search process ensure appropriate market coverage in a defined timeframe. As with executive search it involves utilising our network to take informal views and opinions on suitable candidates in the market. We then combine this with utilising professional networking sites and online databases to identify and directly approach both active and passive candidates that will assist in broadening our reach.
In addition to the abovementioned recruitment services, SMC Executive is on occasion engaged to work on non-exclusive recruitment assignments whereby we will source talented professionals through our network and from our extensive in-house database.
